1 “Jenny Lind Doll,” 20” tall, black-haired china head, china arms, left hand is also china with leather right hand (appears to be a repair), stuffed cloth body and legs, long red, black, green, and white checked dress, blue bow at neck, sparkly buttons down front of dress and around sleeves, three petticoats (one knitted), pantalets, removable brown socks, Germany, 1860s-1870s, separate label attached to doll written in Olive Percival’s hand on one side: “ This was the Doll of Idah Meacham Strobridge, when she was seven ~ and came (via The Isthmus) to California ~ (She d. 2/8/32 abt. 77); on the other side in Olive Percival’s hand: “Persis Meacham ~ dates from 1862 ~ The little red Windsor Chair belonged to Idah’s son, Gerald; he d. at 13 yrs, ~”
